Tourrettes sur Loup
Cape Ferrat is without a doubt one of the most preserved areas of the coast and thus one of the most beautiful. Although it is much visited, this site has been able to conserve a wild and authentic appearance.

Here no food stalls or noisy national roads will be found. Only villas, villas and nothing but villas. Surrounded by immense green parks with pine trees gently soaring up into the sky. Here, in fact, not many palm trees are found.
Not many beaches are found here either. To enjoy the true beauty of this area, it is recommended that one gets up early in the morning. A sacrifice that is well rewarded : at 8am, the ocean is still transparent and one can distinguish its sea life. A real treat not to be missed!
It is recommended to visit the town on foot rather than by car, as it is often congested. You will be able to better discover the tranquil lanes that borders the splendid villas of some of the famous inhabitants of the cape. We in particular suggest that you follow the path that outlines the Saint Hospic Point and the Colombier Point. A breath of fresh air is assured!
One can also reach Cape Ferrat on foot. On condition having made provision for a picnic basket and a good pair of walking shoes. And if you have the courage, you can climb the 64 steps that will take you to the lighthouse. From up here, you have an unobstructed view of the Riviera, from Italy to Esterel.
Saint-Jean-Cape Ferrat is pleasant but nothing more. Of this ancient fishing village, only a few old houses found around the church and port, remains. To be seen: the marriage hall of the town hall, decorated with a painting by Cocteau.
Another interesting place to visit is the Ephrussi-de-Rothschild Museum, on the heights of Saint Jean, in the avenue with the same name. It is a beautiful pink and white dwelling with its partly Moorish and Venetian inspired architecture. Surrounded by magnolias and bougainvillaeas, it houses the personal collection of the baroness and eccentric millionaire Beatrice Ephrussi. A unique collection, with many unique pieces from all the periods and from all the countries. |
