Avignon
Avignon is a historic town located on the left bank of the Rhône River, southeast of Paris. This moderately sized town of 100,000 people is the perfect destination for a vacation during the weekend. Avignon used to be the papal residence for many centuries and the Pope was responsible for the construction of many impressive buildings.
