Great cornice
To experience some strong emotions, nothing beats a drive on the Great Cornice, that connects Nice to Roquebrune-Cape Martin. Don’t even think of pretending to be a Formula 1 driver here because a drop of more than 500 meters separates you from the Mediterranean sea and these sharp rocks. So be careful!!!

From Nice, la Grande Corniche is accessible by taking the Avenue des Diables Bleus (the Avenue of Blue Devils) and the Boulevard Bischoffsheim. The bends and twists of the Mount Gros passing by the Observatory is enough to make your heart pound! So check your tyres before venturing onto this rise.
The part that covers the Mount Vinaigrier-Turbie route is the most impressive. When the weather is good, one literally has the impression of being suspended between the sky and the earth. That is why some areas of the Grande Corniche are transformed into takeoff points for paragliders and those who are crazy about air sports.
Two areas in particular are worth a visit : Mount Bastide, not too far from Cape Ferrat and the panorama of Turbie, at the foot of the Trophée d'Auguste. By climbing up the Mount Bastide, you will be able to admire the remains of an ancient oppidum, but you will also discover the unobstructed view of Cape Ferrat and the village of Eze. This is a must, and should not be missed! Do take a light pullover with you as the wind often howls up here.
In Turbie, a panoramic site has been set-up that allows for a bird’s eye view over Monaco. Spectacular, despite the multitude of buildings and swimming pools that defaces the landscape. When leaving Turbie, you have the choice to go back down to Monte Carlo, or to continue to Roquebrune. We advise you to regain terra ferma and to go to the port of Monaco or the Cap d'Ail to enjoy some sardines, grilled in the sun!!!
