Montmajour Abbey
Superb monument, showing the evolution of Roman art in Provence. Van Gogh has consecrated numerous drawings to it.

The abbey was built between the 11th and the 13th century, on a rock which was an island in the middle of the marshes. It consists of a single nave with barrel vault. The upper church is not completed and the lower church is built around 1150 is very original for its Roman architecture
