Hotel Details
Le Mas de Peint is a Deluxe farm house right in the middle of the Camargue which also produces some of the famous Camargue rice (more than 800 tons per year).
The owner, Mr. Jacques Bon is also a well know "Manadier", which means, that he raises bulls for the arena game called "Course a la Cocarde". This particular kind of wild long horn bulls are raised specially to participate in this game, which consists in taking the bull down by the horns.
Lucille Bon, Jacques wife, is an architect and she designed and decorated every room and salon with the most exquisite taste. No wonder the property has been featured in magazines such as: Cote Sud - Elle - Homes & Gardens - Marie Claire - Joyce and Gault Millau.
For example all the rooms are so well fitted, that the towels, all embossed with the name of the "mas", are so thick and fluffy, that you would like to stick them in your suitcase and take them home! And you can, but not the ones in your room. They have them for sale at the reception! along with other souvenirs of the property. |

Near the hotel
When you get the chance, head into the town of Arles for the day. The town has many remains from the times of the Romans to view. This include the Roman Theatre, the amphitheater, and the Alyscamps, which is a Roman necropolis. There is also the Church of St. Trophime, which is architecturally built in the Romanesque style and has amazing works of art on display. There are a couple of museums of interest as well, and they are the Musée de l'Arles et de la Provence antiques and the Museon Arlaten.

The Camargue is famous for its black bulls and white horses, and you can see both here at the ranch. If you’re flying in from the UK, take a budget flight to Marseilles, Nimes or Montpellier and pick up a hire car.
